Kathmandu: Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat has emphasized the abundance of entrepreneurial prospects within Nepal and urged young individuals to take the lead in exploring and developing these opportunities domestically.

Speaking at the 'Entrepreneurship Motivation Conclave' organized by the Forum for Nation Building, Nepal and Entrepreneurship Youth Creative National Campaign in Kathmandu, the Minister urged youths to rethink the notion that all their aspirations can only be fulfilled abroad.

Highlighting Nepal as a nation rich in potential, the Finance Minister underscored the government's commitment to promoting economic activities within the country. He highlighted the availability of soft loans, grants, and tax discounts as supportive measures for budding entrepreneurs.

Minister Mahat dismissed the misconception among youths that prosperity can only be achieved by leaving the country, emphasizing the growing tourism industry and the promising potential of the IT sector within Nepal.

Former Finance Minister Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada and CEO of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Kiran Kumar Shrestha, also addressed the conclave. They encouraged the youth to explore career options within Nepal, leveraging the various schemes and initiatives introduced by the government and banks. Shrestha noted that the banking sector has introduced ten different schemes to foster entrepreneurship, including initiatives targeted at women and students. However, the anticipated outcomes of these initiatives have yet to be fully realized.

As the nation's economy embarks on a path of recovery, the Finance Minister and other speakers stressed the importance of proactive and positive approaches to achieve economic prosperity. The event underscored the potential for growth and innovation within Nepal, encouraging the younger generation to contribute to the nation's development from within.
